ALICE – an intermedia narration (2005, thesis, output award 2006 ) | teamwork with Eva Schirdewahn

"Alice – Between Reality And Wonderland" deals with Lewis Carroll’s Alice-books, combining the media book and DVD in an interactive way.
Several episodes of the text are illustrated by short animations and films.
You can select these illustrations through a menu which is based on a Möbius strip, inviting the user to a playful exploration of the story based on Alice«s viewpoint.
The major subjects of the book, for instance the presentation of the paradox, the investigation of reality and the repeal of norm, influenced our creative process.

The menu is based on a Möbius strip. You can navigate endlessly and zoom in and out with the mouse pointer.

The mouse pointer, derived from quotation marks, speaks to the user:
1_ if the text is too small to read
2_ if the text is too large to read
3_ to watch the animation behind the text
4_ to help; appears if you put the H-key on your keyboard
5_ to put in the code of the episode directly and watch the animation




REBOCK music video | teamwork with Melanie Bartheidel

The short film "Rebock" is a music video for an unreleased song by the band Munit. The central theme of our video is the daydream. During a journey the orders between reality and dream start to blur.
Impressions of nature and the city life were projected onto a kinetic paper model. Afterwards we collaged these images with the original video material.
The moving elements of the paper model remind us of a machine and serve as a metaphor for a permanently pulsating city that we and the audience pass through.

2004/05, 4:08min, was given credit at the "backup" Film Festival in Weimar, category: music video
